Ice Cream Banana (Musa Acuminata Blue Java) - Imported

The blue java banana is a rare variant of Musa Acuminata. This variety is the best fruiting banana for growing in Canada due to its cold-hardiness and fast growth rate. These are also among the best tasting varieties of banana in the world. They are famous for their aromatic fruit which has the taste and consistency of vanilla ice cream.

Banana plants typically require 2 of our growing seasons to have a chance to produce fruit in Canada. The whole plant or stem must be winterized indoors for 1 winter to accomplish this. The following growing season will require lots of sun, a late frost, and some good luck to produce fruit in Canada.

Our Blue Java Banana plants are imported from Florida each spring on request for our customers.
